Bird Walk | Pinyon Jay Bird Walk through the Junipers

  • 22 Mar 2026
  • 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
  • To Be Confirmed

We can’t guarantee you’ll see a Pinyon Jay—but you just might! Join an expert guide from Northern Arizona Audubon Society for a relaxed morning bird walk in Pinyon–Juniper habitat near Flagstaff.

This walk is perfect for beginners and experienced birders alike. Along the way, you’ll learn how to identify birds by sight and sound and get hands-on practice using a birding app that helps record observations.

This event is also a great way to start participating in community science. Pinyon Jays have experienced significant population declines across the Southwest, and knowing where—and how many—are present is critical to understanding and protecting this species. Your observations help contribute to a larger picture of bird populations in our region.
